| Word. I leave for Indy in a matter of hours. I'm gone til Sunday. Then, school.
Fuck it, Dude. Let's go bowling.
| | |
| Word Split Lip Rayfield/The Wilders show is today, fucking dank.
I totally leave for Indy in 4 days.
Dammit, Umphrey's McGee is fucking awesome. I've said this a number of
times before but seriously, I cannot get enough of these guys. Some
people say they don't "jam", but they have two things they do, Jazz
Odyssey and "Jimmy Stewart" that are almost complete improv, and they
play one if not both of them almost every show. But seriously,
everything about this band rocks, they need to come to KC more. As in,
every tour.
I'm gonna go ahead and call it now, this summer has been a success. I
went to Wakarusa, went to J-camp, chilled in Minnesota, chilled with a
lot of good people, I'm having a pre-Winfield night of dankness
tomorrow and I leave for Tute in a matter of days.
And I managed not to get fired.
Seriously though I was thinking tonight about perception and what it
means to be me. Not me as in Derek Martin, but the royal me, the idea
of "me".
"Me" is something no one else can experience. Even if we try to be someone else we're only imitating our
perception of them. Which once again is tied into "me" because the way
you percieve things is who you are. I don't think there's a simpler way
to explain that, yet that explanation doesn't mean shit unless you
think about it. And to think about it, you're once again thinking
through your own individual mindset. So not only is "me" your mindset
the way you think about the concept of "me" is completely different
than anyone else. Period.
What can I say, it's 3 am and Umphrey's is about to bust into Bright Lights.
Now that I think about it you could probably substitute "self" for
"me", but I don't feel like going back and undoing all of those.

| So, Minnesota was fun, obscenely hot, but fun.
Gate Crashers Suck > Blazeabago > Walletsworth > Anchor Drops > Nemo > Walletsworth
That's the hella dank Umphrey's/Keller medley I've been working on. I
should have it done by Tute. Which I'm almost positive I'll be at.
I'm schedulded to work 4 times in 5 days, I love it.
I saw "The Island" tonight. And even though I go to the movies about
once a year, I'm really glad I went tonight. The movie was really
really good, way better than I expected and I actually had fun.
Then I got into a car accident.
I was really pissed/shaken right after it and I was turning the air
blue with obscenities and then I get out of the car and realize it's
one of my good friends who has hit me. So then it got akward. What's
the protocol for responding to one of your friends who slams into you
from behind with a mini van? Well, needless to say I didn't know it, so
we did our best to work shit out and I think everything's cool now.
Which is good.
Then I got Taco Bell, which was also really good. It just hit the spot for tonight.
